This Biltmore pattern was manufactured for 17 years by the Royal Doulton China company, based in England. Luscious, dark, marble-esque are all terms that have been used to describe another Doulton hit, Royal Doulton Biltmore. It's part of what we like to call the "Royalty Club" at Royal Doulton which includes Royal Doulton Carlyle as well. Both patterns focus heavily on dark green and gold, designed to evoke marble and precious metals, opulence and royalty. Discontinued after quite a successful run, Royal Doulton Biltmore china is as popular as any discontinued pattern and appears to remain so for many years to come.
Our favorite Royal Doulton Biltmore pieces are the salad/accent plate with it's unique center design as well as the sugar bowl.
