This pattern was manufactured for 32 years by the Spode company, based in the United Kingdom. As expected, the Queen's Bird pattern features a small blue and yellow bird perched atop a branch. The exact pose of the bird changes depending on which piece of the pattern you have. After this pattern was discontinued in 1993, a newer version came out just the next year in 1994 with the same appearance. Both versions are now discontinued, but this older pattern, made out of stone, has an undeniable quality to it. Its gray background also makes it something out of the ordinary, and the pattern has a charm to it that is perfect for a welcoming household.
Our favorite Spode Queen's Bird pieces are the rice bowl as well as the Canton shape footed cup.
