This pattern was inspired by hand paintings from the Orient and originated from three representatives of two generations of Fitzhughs of the English branch who became sea captains and even a Director of the British East India Company.
This pattern was made by Spode of England. Spode was founded in 1776 and is known for its wide range of tableware and cook ware. It has a product portfolio that appeals across generations. The brand was bought by the Portmeirion Group in April 2009. The Portmeirion Group is a significant force in the homewares industry with its 4 strong brands: Portmeirion, Pimpernel, Royal Worcester, and Spode. It is a market leader in high quality and innovatively designed tableware, cookware, giftware, and tabletop accessories.
Having been produced for more than 30 years, this collection is rendered across several interesting pieces. The ones that we like most are the lidded tureen with matching ladle and the footed cream soup bowl and saucer set. So bring out that Chinese egg drop soup!
This collection can be used everyday and is also safe for use in the microwave oven.
