This Sherbrooke pattern was manufactured for 30 years by the Royal Doulton China company, based in England. Royal Doulton Sherbrooke is an elegant graceful looking pattern with its subtle scroll-work in the midnight blue rim & low key design on the inside of the platinum colored verge. The Sherbrooke pattern might be mistaken for a Minton pattern as they have some very similar looking designs such as the Minton Riverton pattern which features similar scroll-work. the reason for the similarities may be because of the Royal Doulton Minton merger making them one company and quite possible resulting in the use of similar designs in their patterns. The warm blue in the rim of the Sherbrooke pattern evokes a sense of calm affluence as it should considering that it is quite a prestigious pattern. Royal Doulton does not limit themselves to this one design but rather has a widespread variety of designs & patterns with all different effects, for example the Royal Doulton Kingswood pattern is a much more lively pattern looks more suitable for the warmer seasons with its brighter coloring.
Our favorite Royal Doulton Sherbrooke pieces are the sugar bowl as well as the dinner plate
