This Real Old Willow pattern was manufactured for 17 years by the Royal Doulton China company, based in England. The discontinued Real Old Willow pattern was originally manufactured by the Booths china company which was later acquired by the Royal Doulton company. Even though Royal Doulton acquired the Booths company they kept the name on select patterns like the Real Old Willow pattern as can be seen from the back of its dishes, where it says "Booths" underneath the Royal Doulton logo. The Real Old Willow pattern uses a design which is popular with other china makers such as the Mottahedah Blue Canton pattern which also features a design of blue pagodas which is not actully a design by them but a name they use whenever they employ the use of blue pagodas in its design as can be seen on our very intresting & informative blog. The Real Old Willow pattern by Royal Doulton is quite different from most of the designs by Royal Doulton as can be seen from looking at other patterns by them such as the Carlyle & Sherbrooke patterns which both employ more of a fixed pattern look as opposed to the Real Old Willow pattern which has a design that looks like it is telling a story of a time gone by.
Our favorite Royal Doulton Real Old Willow pieces are the creamer as well as the dinner plate
