When this pattern was introduced in 1952, it was considered to be ultra modern because of its coupe shape. It is said to be an excellent example of mid-century china design with its stark ivory body and simple gold line trim.
This pattern was manufactured by Lenox Corporation of USA, which has been in the business since 1889 and is known for its expert artistry in fine tabletop and giftware (china, crystal, and metal gifts). Their settings are used in no less than the White House while some of their works are also on display in the Smithsonian Institution as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
If you’re a minimalist, this pattern is for you. Its understated design makes it suitable for everyday use. However, its gold trim makes it unsafe for use in the microwave oven.
We love the vintage pepper mill – small yet functional.
