Lenox actually used the Monterey name twice. The first time was for a pattern produced from 1938 to 1948 which featured a gold-trimmed design of pink flowers and green leaves. The second time was for this pattern which has a more subdued design using smaller shapes in lighter colors.
This pattern was manufactured by Lenox Corporation of USA, which has been in the business since 1889 and is known for its expert artistry in fine tabletop and giftware (china, crystal, and metal gifts). Their settings are used in no less than the White House while some of their works are also on display in the Smithsonian Institution as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
We like the cream soup bowl and saucer set. The handles on the bowl will allow you to enjoy creamy soup in the best way possible!
