The Indian Tree pattern was actually inspired by Chinese and not Indian art.  Looking at its strong and striking design, one cannot help but be reminded of royals that once graced the ancient orient.

This pattern was made by Coalport of England which is known for its sprigged floral decorations.

Its design is so intricate that one might opt to use it for decoration rather than for dining.  But if one must use it for dining, it is best used in the evening to complement its bold and powerful pattern.

Our favorite piece in this collection is the flat demitasse cup and saucer set – an exquisitely ornate setting for after-dinner tea.
