This Chantilly pattern has currently been in production for 53 years by the St Louis crystal company, based in France. St Louis Chantilly crystal is from the high end of crystal patterns even when comparing it to other high end crystal like Waterford Ashling & William Yeoward crystal both made in England or Varga Toulouse made in Hungary just to name a few. St Louis Chantilly has an intresting history attached to its name, the name Chantilly comes from the name of a small village in France north of Paris & is known for its fine porcelian & lace that it manufactures. Although we do not know if the St louis company originated from there or if it had the village in mind when it named the Chantilly St Louis pattern after it, its definitely an appropriate sounding name for such a beautiful & elegant pattern. The St Louis Chantilly pattern employs the use of a cut starburst design commonly found in other crystal patterns made by Waterford & Edinburgh among others. Although the design on the St Louis Chantilly pattern is found on other crystal patterns it does not detract from its beauty & elegance in any way as each pattern has that small subtle difference which adds to its beauty.
Our favorite St Louis Chantilly piece is the continental goblet.
