This Flying Cloud pattern was manufactured for 24 years by the Wedgwood China company, based in England. The discontinued Wedgwood Flying Cloud pattern is a unique looking china pattern & there are not many china patterns that look like it in the world. Wedgwood Flying Cloud has a very simplistic design of a plain white background with a simple border & battleship in the center. The battleship in the center of the Flying Cloud pattern looks like the ships uses in the earlier wars fought by England like the Revolutionary war & the war of 1812 but they do need closer inspection to be sure. the Flying Cloud pattern is waht some people call a mantlepiece pattern, meaning they look very good on your mantlepiece & on display in your chin cabinet besides for its obvious function of being used to serve & eat upon. One of the few patterns by Wedgwood that looks similar to the Flying Cloud pattern is Wedgwood American Eagle which has the same design concept. Wedgwood Flying Cloud is definitely not the tyipcal Wedgwood pattern as can be seen from looking at other patterns from them like the Kutani Crane & Belle Fleur patterns which lean more torwards the traditonal Wedgwood look.
Our favorite Wedgwood Flying Cloud pieces are the gravy boat as well as the vegetable bowl
