This Adagio pattern was manufactured 16 years by the Noritake China company, based in the US. This discontinued china pattern has been a very consistent & strong seller while it was in production & there continues to be a fair amount of demand for it even though it was discontinued in 1994. We see a fairly large demand for it from our customers in Italy & that may be because the pattern name in itself is an Italian word meaning "at ease". The name may have been used for this pattern because the Noritake Adagio pattern will definitely put you & your guests mind at ease if you are dining off of it. This pattern is one of many widely varying patterns that Noritake makes all with different designs as can be seen from other patterns like the Noritake Barrymore pattern which is also quite beautiful but a whole different look.
Our favorite Noritake Adagio pieces are the napkin ring as well as the sugar bowl.
