This Sunnyvale pattern was manufactured for 15 years by the Castleton China Company, based in the US. The best way to describe this pattern in a nutshell is gentle elegance. Start with the creamy ivory background and move on the light green leaves and sprayed lavender, blue and red floral arrangements. Top it off with the pearl edge rimmed in gold and you can see why this is one of the most popular, best-selling discontinued china patterns of all time. The design is reminiscent of some of the Rosenthal China Company's earlier designs, with whom Castleton was often aligned with during their long run as a china powerhouse. This set was even used at the White House during the Eisenhower and Johnson administrations. A springtime delight for brides and hostesses alike!
Our favorite Castleton Sunnyvale pieces are the cream soup and saucer as well as the rimmed soup bowl.
