This Massena pattern was manufactured beginning in 1979 by the Baccarat Crystal Company, based in France. Descriptions have a hard time doing this full-lead, hand-blown crystal pattern justice. From the curving beveled lines that extend almost from bottom to top, to the shimmering reflective cut crystal design, Massena is easily recognizable as one of Baccarat most prestigious patterns. It is named after Napoleon's favorite general, Andre Massena, who was one of the original eighteen "Marshals of the Empire" and nicknamed "The Dear Child Of Victory". To one of the greatest of generals belong the greatest of tributes, and this crystal lives up to it's name.
