This Florentine Gold pattern was manufactured for 25 years by the Lenox China company, based in the US. This china pattern is not to be confused with another Florentine Gold pattern, w4220, which has a cream body and is not nearly as popular as this pattern. Part of the enormously successful Florentine range of patterns which feature medieval griffins in many different colors, Florentine has been a Wedgwood mainstay since its inception until today, although only one Florentine pattern is still being made (the Wedgwood Florentine Turquoise pattern). In contrast to other series of patterns in which the color change is incidental, in Florentine the color is crucial. Florentine Gold is a luscious, lavish pattern with a heavy gilded presence designed to make a statement of luxury and class, which it truly does.;
