This Riviera pattern was manufactured for 2 years by the Villeroy & Boch china company, based in Germany. The Villeroy & Boch Persia pattern is a beautiful floral pattern & is great for summer dining. An intresting note about this Villeroy & Boch Persia pattern is that it has a sister pattern which looks the same except it has a smooth edge & is not scalloped like this pattern but otherwise looks almost exactly the same. The Persia pattern is distinctly different from other patterns by Villeroy & Boch but that does not indicate any general design trend as most of the china patterns made by Villeroy & Boch are very different looking, for example if you look at Villeroy & Boch Intarsia & Villeroy & Boch Cannes you can see that they look nothing like each other & do not have any strong resemblance to the Villeroy & Boch Persia pattern either. What we gather from the wide range of patterns & designs available by Villeroy & Boch is that they have something sure to please almost all tastes in china.
