This Sherwood pattern was manufactured for 18 years by the Syracuse China company, based in the USA . An oldie but a goodie, Sherwood was one of the 500 most popular patterns of the twentieth century. Designed by Ed Otis and supposedly inspired by Robin Hood (hence the blue laurel) This Made in America pattern features a leaf and berry blue border, dotted with yellow. This pattern was probably made to be hand washed, but no definitive information is available. Hearken back to earlier, simpler times with this classic china set.
Our favorite Syracuse Sherwood China pieces are the stately coffee pot as well as the covered vegetable bowl.
