This Pompei Gold pattern was manufactured for 31 years by the Richard Ginori 1795 China company, based in Italy. This pattern was made by Ginori in three different colors: gold, red and green, with the gold one being the mainstay and most popular one. This pattern hearkens back to the golden age of Ginori (pun unintended) when they introduced classic Italian designs such as this one to the receptive American market. Today's Ginori has taken a different direction, but this pattern remains popular for those with an appreciation for all things Italian.
