This Diamond Solitaire pattern was manufactured for 6 years by the Lenox China company, based in the USA. The Lenox Diamond Solitaire pattern is one of the Lenox companies newer patterns & has a noticable difference from older patterns. Patterns made by Lenox in the in 70s, 80s & early 90s featured smaller size place setting pieces while the newer patterns like Lenox Diamond Solitaire have larger pieces. For example the dinner plate in this pattern is 11" in diameter, if you compare it to a older pattern like Lenox Autumn where the dinner plate is 10 1/2" in diamter, while it may not seem like much we are noticing a trend among American china manufacturers torwards larger dishes. The size contrast between American & some European (companies like Wedgwood are also trending to larger sizes) manufacturers is noticable if you where to compare the Lenox Diamond Solitaire pattern to the Herend Livia pattern where a dinner plate is only 10" in diamter.
