This India pattern is currently in production since 1996 by the Wedgwood China company, based in the UK. The India pattern is in our opinion is a classic looking Wedgwood design of the 90s & has many of the standard designs Wedgwood puts in to their patterns, starting from the gleaming white background to the beautiful motifs in the elegant black & tan border & the thin gold trim on the edge all together makes one very beautiful & elegant china pattern. The name on this pattern "India" is an odd name for a china pattern but perhaps it was made in reference to when the country India was a colony of England. A pattern which brings out the standard Wedgwood look like this one is the Wedgwood Cavendish pattern which has similar lines to this pattern.
