This pattern was manufactured for 8 years by the Noritake China company, based in Japan. The Golden Tide pieces feature a gold swirl design held in by the gold trim. The creamy white background allows for these details to stand out very well. Perhaps the pattern name and the tide of swirls on the pieces are related.
